October Camp
As per our calendar (see link in sidebar) it is time for another campout! Mark Holt will be out of town for this camp, so we will be meeting at Jeff Morgan's home (the rock house, just across the street from Mark) at 5pm on Friday. Due to sports schedules we will be returning home by 8:30am on Saturday morning.
We will be camping at Affleck Park campground, near Little Dell reservoir up East Canyon. It takes about 20 minutes to drive there and is a fun place for a quick camp.
As of today, the weather looks like it will be good but cold at night and there is a 10% chance of rain showers. So please make sure your boys come prepared by following our winter camping checklist (see link in sidebar).
For food, boys should bring a tinfoil dinner. The troop will provide drinks and dessert. Since we will be coming home early, we’ll just let the boys eat breakfast at home.

June 2015 Little Cottonwood Canyon Campout - 06/17/2015
As you all know (because you have been checking our Troop calendar link found on the right of this post ;) ), we have a campout planned for this Friday. Unfortunately, due to the timing of the end of the school year, most boys are unable to attend. Therefore, since the boys will be out of school, we have decided to move the camp to Wednesday, June 17th at 5pm. We will be camping up Little Cottonwood Canyon and will hike to Donut Falls in the morning before returning home at around 12:00pm. We will email everyone once food assignments are solidified.
This is the best time of year for camping because it is great weather and we can spend our time in the beautiful mountains. We hope your boys will all be able to make it.
If you have any questions please call or text Mark Holt at: (801) 836-8687.

Campout: Mark Holt's Back Yard - Camping Merit Badge 4/24/2015
The next boy scout camp for the 12-13 year olds will be held on Friday, April 24 at 5pm in Mark Holt's back yard.
For this camp, we will be focusing on fulfilling camping merit badge requirements. Specifically, we will be shopping for and preparing a meal that we will plan at Scout's on Wednesday night this week. We will also have the opportunity to soak in Mark Holt's fabulous hot tub that looks out over the city scape.
Since we will be close to home and expect good weather our camping check list will be a little shorter than usual. The requirements are listed below.

Campout: Crystal Hot Springs - 3/27/2015
The next Boy Scout (12-13 year olds but all boys are invited) campout will be held next Friday (3/27/2015). We will be traveling to Crystal Hot Springs which is about an hour and twenty minute drive.
Although our weather has been quite warm lately, this is still considered a winter camp so please pack according to the winter camping pack list. ***Don't forget the addition of a swimsuit, towel and flip flops!!!
We will have a pack check at 8:00pm on Thursday 3/26/2015. Please bring your gear at that time so we can be sure all the boys are prepared for the trip and so we can have the trailer packed ahead of time.
The boys will be responsible for preparing and bringing a hobo/tinfoil dinner to eat Friday night. This will satisfy a cooking merit badge requirement, so please ensure they prepare it themselves (with your help/supervision as necessary).
On Friday we will depart at 4:00pm so please plan on arriving at Mark Holt's house at 3:30pm
Finally, please let us know if your son will or will not be attending as soon as possible so we can arrange travel and food plans.
